Sixty-one outstanding citizens were nominated for the YWCA's Woman of Distinction Award and it's too bad that not all of these deserving women could walk away with the win. That said, Marni is an OUTSTANDING leader and has done much to help make Hamilton a better place to raise a child. Because of her and the Today's Family team, we are ALL winners. Yay, Marni!!!

Last year was my first opportunity to attend the Walk in Remembrance and Butterfly Release in memory of my great-niece Mikayla Fraser. What a wonderful, heartfelt experience it was and looking forward to attending again this year and releasing my butterfly for Mikayla!

I thought the Annual General Meeting was wonderful, I have been thinking about it all morning and looking at the report, also wonderful.

I would like to personally thank all the staff whose work in our community and beyond truly makes a difference to the lives of children and their families. There was such a sense of goodness in that room last evening and truly the staff are the unsung heroes. In my social justice work I rub shoulders mostly with retired teachers, there is something special I believe in their DNA and that was true of the stories from teachers of small children that were told last evening.

Congratulations to all who carry love throughout the day and continue to give beyond the 9 to 5 schedule.

Sincerely
Ann
